Hi Guys
After a very long interval of No fishing I was finally able to go fishing at Driekoppies for the weekend. Im also writing this despatch with mixed feelings, if I phone someone on the water and tell him that all the big fish is on a wens and he pulled in next to me and catches good fish and then that night around the encampment fire he makes it sounds like he found the fish there and dont mention that I have told him that or thanked me for the info, well then I get a bit peed off and credit me next time I will keep my info for my self. But lets leave it there.
The weather man was not the kindest of people this weekend; we had sprinkle, heavy winds and sun all in one weekend.
I took a days deviate from on Friday and I took my DAD with, he had never caught a Bass in his life so he was a bit skeptic about these young rods and thin line that I was using, he is a rock and surf guy with 40lb railroad and 14feet rods, a heavy tackle man, but never the less I took his comments like a man.
We progressive Secunda on Friday at 3h00 so that we can still fish most of Friday morning and afternoon. The entr was long and busy. The boat was floating at about 8h30 and we were off. Now you should now I have never been on this dam and there were trees all over the digs, so where to start. With my limited knowledge I decided to ignore the trees and fish the places where there is normally fish. We took a move around the Dam to see what we can find; my strategy was to look at the shore and find a steep bank that runs into the dam. There is a lot of bank around that dam that is very breakneck speed with only a few feet of water and trees in the shallows, but with the weather that was on its van I decided to look for the deeper fish.
